If Buddha was alive!

Archaeologist Robin Coningham of UK’s Durham University reaffimed in 2013 that the big debate about when and where Buddha was born is now verified by excavations locating a shrine dating tO around 550 B.C. This pushes Buddha’s birth date back by a century! Situated in Lumbini, this shrine is evidence of Buddha’s birthplace where his mother was said to have clung to a tree while giving birth to him. However, still in debate by leading scholars, we have yet to hear the final word. Meanwhile, various agents are cashing in on Lumbini as a pilgrimage site… far removed from Buddha’s teachings of detachment.
