KINSHIP WITH EARTH BY Sakuliu Pavavalung

Sakuliu Pavavalung [b. 1960] from Taiwan’s Paiwan tribe is one of the leading contemporary indigenous artists of today. As a cultural worker and councilor in his village, Pavavalung dedicates his art and work to nurturing the indigenous people of Taiwan.

Pavavalung’s practice includes painting, sculpture, ceramics, architecture and installations, inspired by Paiwan culture and history. His remarkably diverse works highlight his expertise in painting, sculpture, ceramics, and installations.
