Lights! Camera! Action!

Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s life and films have been deeply influenced by his early years in Kerala. The sound of oars swishing through water, or the rhythm of rainfall, the characters and creatures around him, whether they be from his neighborhood or performances of Kathakali and Koodiattam, or from the trees and fields……have touched him. As he says, “ In my films I have crows, dogs, house-lizards, and other birds in various ways. It is may way of story telling”.
